Update-Almost a Year Later....

Hello to anyone that is following me. I bet you're wondering where I've been....well in the past 10 months a lot has happened. In June of last year I was still not working and we moved to a city so my boyfriend could be closer to his work.
Within 3 months of living here I found a full time job that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, after 6 months of loving work and going to work happy everyday, they restructured their accounting department and I was let go. Talk about devastating. So now I am back on the job hunt and trying to make the best use of my free time.
Also within the last year we celebrated my nieces turning 1, my cats turning 3 and 7, many family birthdays and holidays.
In the wintertime I was able to schedule time off and went up to Thunder Bay to visit my mother and spend a week with her. It was nice to get away even if it was to colder climates.
I also recently got back in body modifications. I got another tattoo in October in memory of my friend who passed away and I started stretching my ears after New Years. The experience was definitely interesting and lobes are currently at a 00 gauge. I'm planning to go to 1/2". I also was looking at septum piercings for a while Pinterest and finally went and got it pierced 3 weeks ago. I'm still in the healing process and I think it will be another couple weeks until I can change out the jewellery just because  I have allergies so it takes my nose longer to heal. I chose the septum piercing because I think it can look so dainty and girly but can also look badass and can be completely hidden if necessary. I ordered some new plugs and septum jewellery so maybe I'll do an unboxing when it comes in.
Other than that not a whole lot has changed in my life. My boyfriend and I still have a great relationship after 4 years and counting. I'm sorry that I haven't been on my blog but I'm looking to get back into it so please bear with me. I am also planning on changing a few things around on the blog because my style and interests have changed quite a bit since I started this a year ago.
I've also inserted a few pictures of the last year for your viewing pleasure.

Festival Makeup Look | White Eyeliner

Hey guys! Happy hump day! Hope you're all looking forward to the weekend!! I know I am.

Today I decided to recreate this white eyeliner look from Emilia Clarke. She plays daenerys targaryen off Game of Thrones and is just an absolute babe! I also think this look is perfect for summer music festivals as it's different but not too out there. So without further adieu, here's what I used to achieve this look!

Face

I started off by moisturizing my face using  my St. Ives collagen moisturizer then I applied Rimmel Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation in True Beige all over my face using a flat top kabuki brush. Then for concealer I used L'Oreal True Match concealer in W1-2-3 Fair/Light. I set everything in place with L'Oreal True Match mineral powder in Light Ivory. For bronzer and contour I used NYC Sunny bronzer and on my cheeks I used a blush from my Hard Candy contour trio in 3 Strikes. For highlight I used Essence Bloom Me Up shimmer powder in Rose It Up. On my brows I just brushed through them with a spooly and definitely them using Covergirl brow makers in blonde

Eyes

For the eyes I started off by applying a shimmery bone colour from my Smashbox Full Exposure palette sample to my lids and took a matter warm brown to blend into my crease as my transition shade. Then I just blended a bunch of pinks into my crease using various shades from various palettes. To define my lower lash line, I used that same warm brown colour just to give a little shape to my eyes. Next I used a white eyeliner from Bonne Bell to create the line and wing and set everything in place with a white eyeshadow. I also added a very thin line of liquid eyeliner to the base of my lashes just to make my lashes a bit more full. I used my Kat Von D tattoo liner in Trooper. Next it was time to curl my lashes and I applied two coats of Benefit They're Real mascara to my top lashes and Clinique bottom lash mascara to my bottom lashes.

Lips

For my lips I kept it pretty natural and applied my Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue in Coral Crave

I hope you guys like this look and if you decide to recreate it tag me on Instagram @jessica_lauree and please comment on what type of looks or posts you'd like to see next! Love you all! 💕

I will be doing an apartment tour once I have everything where I want it and the decorating mostly finished. I've got some nifty DIY ideas thanks to Pinterest so I'm looking forward to sharing those with you!

I hope you guys didn't forget me and I'll be back with a new post tomorrow!

Cheers!

What's going on.....

Hey guys!

I'm sorry I haven't posted much! I hope you are all fabulous and had a good weekend.

I just wanted to say that I will be taking a break from my blog for a little while. My life has just been crazy and stressful lately and I need to focus on my priorities.

I got some bad news about my cat over the weekend so trying to deal with that and get her on the mend as much as possible. She's my everything so this whole ordeal has been very hard for me.

Also as my moving date draws near there is a number of things that I still have to get done, as well as packing and making sure everything is accounted for. It's causing me a lot of stress and limiting my creative juices.

For that reason I have decided to take a little bit of a break and focus on my pets and getting everything together for the big move.

Once I am all set up and settled into my new place and things calm down then I will definitely be back with some new posts.

I hope you guys understand and can stick with me through this crazy stressful difficult time.

I love you all!

Take care! Xo

Bright and Fun Spring Makeup Look!

Hey guys!!! Hope you're having a good week so far!! At least its Wednesday!!  It's rather gloomy here today so I thought I would do a fun and bright spring makeup look!

For primers I used Hard Candy's Sheer Envy Colour Correcting primer. It's a green primer so it helps to neutralize some redness I have on my face and helps my makeup last all day long.

Foundation: L'Oreal True Match Lumi in W1-2 Porcelain/Light Ivory. I'm pale as a ghost right now and this foundation matches me perfectly since I am that in between shade between porcelain and ivory, and it also gives my skin a nice glow.

Concealer: L'Oreal True Match in W1-2-3 Warm-Fair/Light. The whole True Match line from L'Oreal is great so I couldn't go wrong in using this concealer.

Contour: I used my 15 pc concealer palette that I bought off Amazon. It doesn't have any brand name but it works great. I use a BeautyBlender to blend it out and into my skin

Powder: Essence Cosmetics All About Matt! Translucent setting powder.

Blush: Hard Candy's Fox in a Box in Truth or Dare. Great pink everyday blush.

Highlight: Essence Cosmetics Bloom me Up shimmer powder in Rose It Up. Great highlighter that gives your skin a natural flawless glow.

Brows: Covergirl Brow & Eye Makers in Soft Blonde

Eyes: Bronzer in crease to define the eye
E.L.F Cosmetics baked eyeshadow in Enchanted
Covergirl Ink It! eyeliner in Aquamarine Ink
         Benefit They're Real mascara

Lips: Wet n' Wild Lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold.

Hope you guys liked this post and look for Friday's post!! I'm super excited about it!!

Take Care!! <3 xo

Favourite Pink Lipsticks-Spring Edition

Hey everyone!!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I just wanted to put together a quick post and share my favourite pink lippys for spring time!

Starting with the NYX lipsticks. First is called Baby Pink and is a very sheer pink/lilac colour. It's a great colour for just adding a little bit of pop to your lips. It's very creamy and easy to apply. Next is Strawberry Milk. It is a very light pink nude colour. It is on the edge between wearable and a little bit out there. The formula is very pigmented and creamy and feels very hydrating on the lips. It's a great lippy for those nights out.

Next we have Wet n' Wild's Cherry Picking. This is a berry pink. It's a very pigmented semi-matte lipstick. I love this lipstick because it's a shade that can work for either spring or fall. It's also a great dupe for MAC's Rebel.

Now here's one I really love, Maybelline's Colour Sensation lipstick in Hot Plum. It's that perfect "Radiant Orchid" colour that is the colour of the year. I feel like this lippy just pulls a whole look together. I like to sport it with a bold eye as well. This lippy is just spring in a bottle to me.

Next is NYC's Blue Rose. It's a bright fuchsia with a blue undertone to give your lips that pearl gloss colour. I like to wear this when I'm feeling rather bold. It's very creamy and quite pigmented.

Last is NYX's soft matte lip cream in Antwerp and Tokyo. I love these lippys. They are so pigmented and very wearable. They are so easy to apply and dry to a matte finish. Although they are very drying to the lips, I absolutely love them and they last forever!

I absolutely love spring. I love the bright colours and fashion!

I hope you guys liked this post and stay tuned for a fun makeup and hair look!

Take care! <3

Review-Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Mousse

Hey everyone!!

Hope you all had a wonderful week!! Thank goodness for the weekend!

Today I will be sharing my review of the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Mousse. I am in the shade Ivory. I dabbed the foundation on with my finger tips and then buffed it into my skin using a stipple brush. I also powdered my skin very lightly using a matte translucent powder.

Overall this is a good medium coverage foundation however I did have a few concerns. First off being that this foundation is not very buildable. If you applied a very thin layer it felt great on the skin but after applying more foundation in the areas that need it, the foundation felt really heavy and almost tacky, like it never properly set or settled into the skin.
The other thing that I do not like about this foundation is that it clung to dry patches on my face...which I find very astonishing since I always moisturizer before applying anything to my face and I also used a primer. It could have been that I used a powder as well overtop though....I may have to give it another trial run.

The foundation lasted a decent amount of time, however it did start to fade and rub off around the usual areas such as the nose and chin. Another thing that I did not like was the very limited colour selection. There are only about 8 shades to choose from in this collection, which I think may deter some people to purchase as they won't be able to find their exact shade. I got lucky with finding mine, although my face looks super washed out in the flash(I think it might have been the lighting.

This picture shows what the foundation looks like in flash photography...well on me anyway...I'm not that great at taking these photos.

This photo shows in natural lighting, however the last picture is just with my bathroom light on because it was 11pm.

Again I will say that overall this is a good foundation. I probably won't use it much except for those days when my skin is really behaving, but it is a good foundation to have. I also have dry to combination skin so I usually never have a problem with getting shiny throughout the day, however if you have oily skin this may be a good everyday foundation for you as it is oil free and shine free.

I hope this review helped some of you if you were thinking about purchasing this from your local drugstore.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I will have a new post up on Monday!!

Take care! <3 Xo
