Hair journey-brunette to blonde

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. I've been super sick and just been focusing on getting better. However I wanted to share my hair story of going from brunette to blonde.

I haven been a brunette since May or June of 2013 and I liked it because I think it looked more natural. But I was ready for a change.
I decided to go back to blonde.

I started by using a bleach lightening system that I got from the drugstore. I ended up having to bleach it twice but it still looked way too yellow.
Then a good friend suggested I should tone my hair. I've never used toner before so was a little hesitant but I went to Sally's a decided to pick it up anyhow and have a go. I mean it is hair after all.
I went and bought the Wella T-18 Lightest Ash Blonde toner (formerly White Lady) and Vol 20 developer.
It was a little strange putting purple junk in my hair but I trusted my friend.
I applied it and left in my hair for 30 minutes then rinsed out and showered as usual. I was sooooo happy when I dried it and saw the result!
All the brassiness was gone and yellow and orange was definitely toned down. I was in love!

However after a week or two my hair started to turn really yellow again and kind of looked like straw. I decided to go out and grab some toner and tone my hair again. This time I applied it to my hair and left it on for 15 minutes instead of 30, otherwise my hair probably would have turned purple. I rinsed it out and showered as usual again. I also applied a deep conditioning treatment while in the shower to keep my hair from looking completely fried. After drying and styling my hair I was even more in love than I was when I first toned my hair! It's so ashy and the toner actually brought out some highlights! I'm so happy!
Now I'm not a professional hair stylist or cosmetologist. I have no training with hair or with hair colour. I honestly think I just got lucky, but if this helps you out a little more with going blonde then that's great!! It's a process but I think it's worth it!
I absolutely love my hair blonde now and don't think I'll be going dark anytime soon!

I hope you all have an awesome weekend and stay tuned next week for more posts!

Cheers! Xo

Spring Inspiration?

Hey guys!

Surprise post!! Wee!!

I want to know what your inspirations are for Spring/Summer? What items are on your go-to list for Spring? I'd love it if you would share your inspirations with me!

For me it would have to be anything with bright colours and pastels. I LOVE bright lipstick, nailpolish, and accessories!

For instance I am loving this combination! So vibrant and bright...I just love it!

For summer I am loving crochet clothing. Theres just something about it that just screams summer!

This is just perfect for many summer occasions as it can be dressed up or dressed down. LOVE IT!!

So what are you inspirations? What do you think of when you think of Spring or Summer?!?

Let me know in the comments below and also let me know if you are over this winter as much as I am?

Thank you to all my lovely viewers and have a wonderful day!!

Review-Hard Candy Contour Trio

Hey everyone! <3

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I'm back with another review! This time it is on the Hard Candy contour trio which consists of a bronzer, blusher, and "luminizer" or highlighter.

Let's start with the bronzer. This bronzer is highly pigmented and matte which is perfect for contouring and adding warmth to the face. Unfortunately it is a wee bit too dark for my pastey skin but once I get some colour from the sun I think it will be perfect! The product blends very easily which is prefect for beginners just learning how to contour and bronze.
Next is the blusher. At first glance the blusher looks just like any "cheap" blusher would look like-hot pink and hard as a rock. But upon application it is gorgeous! It blends effortlessly and gives a nice sheer glow to the face. It has a tad bit of sheen to it which is perfect for a dewy skin look and would be perfect for summer! I can't wait to use this once I have a nice tan going! Again this is very easily blended. I use a duo fibre brush and it works perfectly.
Last but certainly not least is the highlighter. This is the first highlighter that I have owned, as I am still working to build my collection, but in my opinion it is gorgeous! It has a slight pink undertone which works well with my pale skin at the moment and it makes my skin look FLAWLESS! I am absolutely head over heels for this! My cheekbones look much more prominent and it just gives my skin a gorgeous glow. The product is easily blended with a brush or with your fingers. I like to use a fan brush or even a small blush brush. This highlight will be gorgeous for summer as well to just be worn alone with some foundation just to give that nice summertime glow to the face!

Overall, I am super impressed with this trio and can't wait for the warm weather to get more use out of it! I strongly recommend this product to the aspiring MUA on a budget, or for those just starting to get into makeup and cosmetics.

I hope you enjoyed this review and I hope it helped you out a little bit! If you have a specific product you would like me to review please leave your suggestion in the comments or if you have a specific post you would like to see then also please comment!

Love you guys and I hope you enjoy your week! I'll be back in a couple days with a new post!

This is the trio. Retails for $6.98 CAD at Walmart. (ps I love the packaging)

Here's a look using the contour trio!

March 18th, 2013-Maybelline Vibrant Sensations Lipstick Review

Hello everyone!

Happy Tuesday!

Sorry I have been a little AWOL lately. I haven't been feeling all that inspired as of late. But since we are on the brink of spring, I am loving the bold bright colours!
I have accumulated a couple of new products to try so look forward to some reviews in the next week!

First review will be on the Maybelline Vibrant Sensations lipsticks! It glides on like butter and is SO pigmented! I'm in love. I only picked up one colour as I was looking for a very bright purple, and I fell in love instantly. It's the perfect colour for spring!

Stay tuned for more reviews and makeup looks in the coming weeks!

I also dyed my hair back to blonde so I will post my journey on that soon.

Take care loves and stay beautiful! xo
