Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. I've been super sick and just been focusing on getting better. However I wanted to share my hair story of going from brunette to blonde.
I haven been a brunette since May or June of 2013 and I liked it because I think it looked more natural. But I was ready for a change.
I decided to go back to blonde.
I started by using a bleach lightening system that I got from the drugstore. I ended up having to bleach it twice but it still looked way too yellow.
Then a good friend suggested I should tone my hair. I've never used toner before so was a little hesitant but I went to Sally's a decided to pick it up anyhow and have a go. I mean it is hair after all.
I went and bought the Wella T-18 Lightest Ash Blonde toner (formerly White Lady) and Vol 20 developer.
It was a little strange putting purple junk in my hair but I trusted my friend.
I applied it and left in my hair for 30 minutes then rinsed out and showered as usual. I was sooooo happy when I dried it and saw the result!
However after a week or two my hair started to turn really yellow again and kind of looked like straw. I decided to go out and grab some toner and tone my hair again. This time I applied it to my hair and left it on for 15 minutes instead of 30, otherwise my hair probably would have turned purple. I rinsed it out and showered as usual again. I also applied a deep conditioning treatment while in the shower to keep my hair from looking completely fried. After drying and styling my hair I was even more in love than I was when I first toned my hair! It's so ashy and the toner actually brought out some highlights! I'm so happy!
Now I'm not a professional hair stylist or cosmetologist. I have no training with hair or with hair colour. I honestly think I just got lucky, but if this helps you out a little more with going blonde then that's great!! It's a process but I think it's worth it!
I absolutely love my hair blonde now and don't think I'll be going dark anytime soon!
I hope you all have an awesome weekend and stay tuned next week for more posts!
Cheers! Xo
